Personal Information I Find Easy And Difficult To Express

Self-disclosure is when you intentionally disclose personal information about yourself to someone else, usually in a one-to-one situation. The appropriateness of self-disclosure depends on the social context and the degree of intimacy in the relationships. Genuine self-disclosure, however, requires you to reveal relatively private information about yourself which otherwise would not be available. Just making 'small talk' is not engaging in self-disclosure. (Lewis & Slade, 1994, p.101).
